Dr. Clyde E. Gaines

(Former CMBSC State President)

Installation and dinner for Dr Gaddis at the Los Angeles Sheraton

Dr. Clyde Elliott Gaines, served as the President of the California Missionary Baptist State Convention for over 12 years, under his leadership our convention was vibrant and continuously growing.  After his tenure, the Executive Committee voted that
Dr. Gaines, would carry the title of President Emeritus for the California Missionary Baptist State Convention.  Even though he no longer served as President, you would always see Dr. Gaines at every Session along with his wife Barbara Gaines.  He never missed a session, but he was dedicated and committed to our State Convention.

We are truly going to miss Dr. Gaines.  Let us keep First Lady Barbara Gaines, The Gaines family, the Greater Trinity Church family, and our State Convention lifted up in prayer.

Again his wisdom and leadership will be greatly missed.  May the legacy of this great Pastor, preacher, teacher and our friend live on.

Dr. George A. Epps, Sr.

Pastor Epps over the past few years united back with the California Missionary Baptist State Convention, during the unification of both conventions.  Immediately upon becoming a part of our convention, Pastor Epps went to work.  He served at the 4th Vice President and was faithful, dedicated and committed to seeing our convention move forward in a positive direction.

His wisdom, leadership and tenacity to get things done will be greatly missed.  May the legacy of this great Pastor, preacher, teacher and friend live on. Let us continue to pray for the Epps family, the Second Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and the Freedom District Association.
