The California Missionary Baptist State Convention invites all Associate Ministers and Wives, Staff Ministers and Wives, Pastors and Wives, and laypersons to attend the Fourth Annual S.M. Lockridge Ministers Institute held in the City of Bakersfield, California.  For the past three years over 100 ministers and laypersons attended our first three sessions and this year's gathering promises to be an even more edifying and encouraging experience. 

The Conference was birthed under the ministry of our current President, Dr. C.E. Gaines, who saw a need to encourage young preachers and expose them to preparations for the awesome task of ministry.  The Conference Coordinators are two experienced pastors:  Dr. Bryant C. Wyatt, Sr., pastor of the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Sacramento, California, where he has served since 1989 and Dr. Robt. E. Houston, Sr.,assistant pastor of the Westwood Baptist Church, University Center, Nashville, Tennessee, who has pastored congregations previously in Oregon and California for 15 years.
