Reverend Donald W. Allen was installed on Sunday, April 19, 2009 as the pastor of Union Baptist Church, Bakersfield, CA. Rev. Allen's wife is Denise, and they were celebrated in a service with over 200 in attendance.

The presiding officer was Dr. H.T. Calhoun, pastor of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church and Moderator of the San Joaquin Baptist District Association. There were over 20 pastors and ministers in attendance as well.

Rev. Allen stated, "Truly I thank God for the leadership of my pastor, the late Dr. John W. Turner. And for his works at the Union Baptist Church. I continue to pray that God gives me the vision to lead His people where He leads me. Your prayers are always needed that I, as the pastor, and this congregation are all on one accord."
